From Rev. Carol Horton:
Collect for Sunday, July 2, 2017:
Almighty God, you have built your Church upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone: Grant us so to be joined together in unity of spirit by their teaching, that we may be made a holy temple acceptable to you; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Collect for July 4, Independence Day:
Lord God Almighty, in whose Name the founders of this country won liberty for themselves and for us, and lit the torch of freedom for nations then unborn: Grant that we and all the people of this land may have grace to maintain our liberties in righteousness and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
In our lives as citizens of this country, may we always remember that we are, first and foremost, children of God and followers of Jesus Christ. May the message of the love, mercy and grace of God be always our guide.
Thoughts for the week:
The first step in the acquisition of wisdom is silence, the second listening, the third memory, the fourth practice, the fifth teaching others.

Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.

Anita will be in the office on a slightly modified schedule (see below). For pastoral emergencies, please check the church voicemail or contact Lynn Logg or Lori Wolfe, our wardens. May the loving-kindness of God be ever present for all of us.
Peace and blessing,
